How to Write an Article to Promote Your Website in Ezines with Search Engine Power.
Ezine articles are one of the most profitable ways to promote your site. If you really deliver valuable content, there are lots of ezine publishers willing to publish your articles to their readers, leaving your signature file intact. Because many of them are looking for quality content for their ezine.
There are thousands of newsletters that have to be filled with articles every month, with a collective audience of millions.
If you can write interesting articles, you can submit them to article directories or directly to ezine publishers you know and have your name and website in front of 10,000's readers. And you don't have to be an expert in writing. A list of simpel instructions will do.
Writing ezine articles
The best way to write an excellent article is to write about your passions. Because that's what you're good at! And your passion can be transfered to your readers, who are always interested to read expert opinions.
So, what is your passion? What knowledge do you have that can be of value for anyone else. Write about it. And do some research about the topic. I'll explain in the next paragrahp why.
But even for issues that you do NOT excel in, you can write good articles. You just have to take the time (here's the secret) to investigate, do your research and become an expert.
Find out what people are interested in. Read newspapers, magazines, newsletters, look at Yahoo shopping or study popular searchphrases. Type your topic in your favorite search engine and read everything that may be of interest. Make notes and list sites that offer valuable resources about your topic. Include them later in your article. After all, that's what your readers will be interested in.
Write it!
Now that you have collected all necessary information, write down the main issues concerning the article. Maybe you'll have 3 to 6. Work them out seperately. Write about it and make it a lot. Remember that the main goal of your text will be valuable content for your readers: know how, solving a problem, interesting facts.
If you have done that, write a title. This should be an enticing headline. Better, write 10 titles that arouse interest and keep your readers curious.
Once you've done that, put everything away for at least 1 day, better a few days. But remember: you have to finish it, don't forget that.
This way you can clear your brain from all the info you've seen. You will have a fresh mind and a fresh look a few days later.
RE-write it!
OK, you're back. Now read your article again. Ty the seperate subtopics together. Skip any parts that are too commercial, because the last thing the editors want is a salespitch for whatever.
Consider the flow of the text, is is smooth and logical. If not, change it!
Do NOT use difficult words that look interesting and no jargon. Readers hate that. Just use simpel 6th grade language, because your text should read really easy.
Decide wich headline is most enticing and use it.
Always end your article with a 'Resource Box' that includes your name, URL and your email address. Invite webmasters and editors to use your article provided they include this resource box (see end of this article).
When you have finished all this, again leave it alone for a couple of days. After that reread all your notes first and than the article. Even better, let someone else read it and make comments. Make your final improvements by skipping everything that is not really necessary (which is why you should have written a lot in the first place). Those final improvements are crucial for successful publishment.
Important:
- re-format your text to 65 characters per line and
- use your spelling checker NOW!!!
Publishing time!
Now you can mail editors you know and ask them nicely if they are interested in publishing your article. Thats a long road, but a good one.
