Here's a true story:I started on the Internet many years ago, can't exactly remember when. My first site was about wholesale pottery and it was hosted for free. It was quite a success, because I managed to build a list of over 3,000 subscribers. That was easy. All I had to do was show a lot of product pictures, write some product descriptions, numbers and prices and finally asked visitors to sign up to receive an email whenever new products were added. Sales were a completely different story because this pottery was only sold in large quantities shipped in 40 ft. sea containers. Although I managed to get a few it was really very difficult. It was fun to see how you could be in touch with the whole world through the Net working from your own home and I started to think about other sites like the one you're on right now. Apart from learning every aspect of successful website development, one of my biggest problems was the language. Since English wasn't (and still isn't) my native tongue I really was scared to death that I would make mistakes. Specifically when it comes to nuances and subtleties in emotional matters. Like in a sales page. I was afraid to write and to sell. Fortunately I had an outstanding resource that helped me to overcome that anxiety. So I started anyway and today my site is very successful.
