A Keyfactor to Success | ||||||||

July 16, 2004 I have tons of ebooks, e-courses, reports, mini-guides and whatever the experts call these information packages. Lots of them are about how to be successful on the Net. Darn good stuff in many of them, but in my view one aspect remains somewhat hidden. I'll write about that below and I suggest you read it carefully and do something with it. I think it can help you achieve success. Enjoy. Case A hidden success factor Strange question: If you would want to learn to play guitar within the next half year, what would be the best way to achieve that? (if you do play guitar take another instrument as an example :) ) I think you could go either of three ways:
Trying to make music together is so much more fun than playing alone! I think you would succeed, provided you find such a colleague. Isn't that how most of us began to play an instrument? Isn't that the reason why many great performers can't read one single note? Guess it is! So, why don't we do so on the Internet? Why is everybody who wants to learn something hiding behind an anonymous IP-address? Why do we keep downloading ebooks to learn from? Yeah, it's an outstanding way to start and to keep up to date, but somewhere you have to start yourself. Why do we hide behind an undeliverable hotmail email address when we sign up for a valuable newsletter? Do you really think guys like Paul Myers, Willie Crawford, Jim Daniels, Ken Evoy and Marlon Sanders, just to name a few (apology to the others), will abuse your email address? Come on, they have better things to do! So why do we do that? I know. It's soooooo ............ private! Well, let me tell you something: becoming successful on the Net is easier and more fun when you team up. I don't mean that you have rush into a joint venture, although it's the most excellent example of teaming up to achieve success. Just start with getting some help and finding peers. This is phase one. If you're completely new to the Internet, just type newbie in your favorite search engine and add forum, forums or discussion board(s). Start with that, see what comes up and talk! Give your real (first) name so people get to know you. And it doesn't necessarily have to be about marketing. Just type your favorite topic and add the same words, like forums. Talk! Ask questions. Promote yourself. Be honest, explain your situation and your goals. Find your peers and team up to exchange information. It makes your Internet life easier and it's more fun. If you have gathered basic information and gained some confidence, try to reach the next phase. Phase 2: Find a mentor, a teacher. Use email to get in touch with someone. Explain the situation and ask questions. Now, don't start writing all the famous ones I mentioned above. It's more like a natural process. In your quest for success you will always meet someone who knows more than you. If you like that person, if you can get along with him or her, if he or she knows a lot more than you, then kindly ask them to mentor you. You'll be amazed how many Internet marketers are willing to help you. Know why? Because most of them realize that they once were where you are right now! They realize that Internet marketing is nothing more than a perpetual learning curve. When they look ahead they see less and less people. When they look behind them they see hordes of people. That reminds them they are somewhere else on that same curve as you are right now. If you clearly hold up your sign, stating your goal and your wish to leap forward, chances are they will help you. Why? Well, apart from their kindness, it also can be very profitable for them. Another great affiliate in their team and hey, they have another money maker. So, what I'm saying here is: don't do it alone! Get some help, team up, find a mentor and then step into phase 3: download all the targeted info and ebooks you can get that brings you one or two steps further in achieving your goals. One word of caution here. Never, ever try to team up with family, friends or anyone who's NOT enthusiastic about the Internet. If you do so, chances are you won't even get to the first phase because of all the critisism you will get. That would be a great mistake. Remember, succeeding in learning to play guitar only works when you team up with another enthusiast, NOT by telling your friends and family about it. Now, with that said, what are you waiting for? Go out, search and find. That's it for today. Wish you success. Case Stevens P.S. Would you like to do me a favor? Please tell a friend how to subscribe.
