Flipping is the practice of buying an asset and quickly reselling (or "flipping") it for profit. In this article we'll concentrate on flipping websites and blogs.
But you can also flip Private Lable Rights content and I have a free report available for you that shows you exactly how to do just that to make some fast cash.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's talk about flipping websites and blogs first.
If you're good at creating websites for niches that are 'in demand', you can earn a full income flipping these websi
tes.
But even if you're not good at that, you can buy websites dirt cheap, improve them and then flip them. I'll show you the resources where to buy websites for next to nothing.
You start flipping websites with the usual research of profitable niches.
There are many, many ways to find out what really hot niches are. One way to do that is by just browsing Ebay, Amazon or Yahoo Shopping.
Amazon has lists like MostGifted, Bestsellers, Movers & Shakers and Most Wished For.
Ebay has a list called Ebay Pulse showing popular searches.
And Yahoo Shopping even shows you the search
terms of their popular items.
Once you've find a great niche (lots of demand and money to pay), you create a small content website that you're going to flip and monetize it selling low priced digitally delivered products or pure niche content to promote affiliate links or Adsense.
If you don't know how to create such a site, then explore the Buy, Sell or Trade thread in the Digital Point forums (select Sites) and see if you can snap a great site for cheap. Plenty of offers there. Start with lurking for a day or two if you're not familiar with the topic to learn how it's done.
You can use that same forum thread to sell your website after you've improved it.
Main improvements can consist of optimizing the site for search engines, adding squeeze pages to build lists, adding autoresponder series, researching affiliate programs and adding them to the content and things like that.
Or, you can visit SitePoint Marketplace and make yourself familiar with their procedures. If you're flipping new sites, you have to put them in the Startup Web Sites for Sale thread. There's a lot of help information at that site and you should read that thoroughly before taking any action.
If you get bids on the websites you're flipping, always check the credentials of a bidder. Occasionally you'll run into a scammer who buys your site using PayPal and after you've sent them the website they claim to have received nothing or something incomplete. PayPal will refund them. If your flipping higher valued websites (say over $500) you may want to use escrow services like Escrow.com or Sedo.com
So, that's the theory about flipping websites and you really can make a nice income putting this to work. It's not unusual to flip one website every few days for $150 - $500.
If you get the hang of it, you can easily make $3,000-$5,000 a month or more.
I can prove that!
