Blogs are very popular. It's a fact that both readers and search engines like them.
Now, website owners are discovering the great benefits of blogs too.
The biggest advantage of blogs for any website owner is, that they are so easy to manage.
Actually, a good blog is a content management system, where you can easiliy organize and control your high value content, create the necessary backlinks and evoke interaction with your readers.
Before I show you how to set up your own blog in less than three minutes, let me emphasize the need for proper preparation, as with any site.
You first have to find your niche and the categories you are going to post your high value content in.
I could write an ebook about that topic, but I will not. That's because Myleena Phan already did so.

So, after studying the report and finding your niche and a great name for your blog, you're ready to set up your own blog. Here's how you do that.
Personally I prefer to host my blog myself, using my own domain names.
Any good hosting company will offer you a control panel, from where you can manage your site.
One of the features will be an automated process to set up your own blog. Very often it will be a Wordpress blog, since this one is very powerful, flexible open source with many plugins available.
If you want to go this route, and I strongly advice you to do so, then find a host who supplies the automated setup for your blog and you're done within a minute!

However ....
If you want to go the free route or if you want to test the waters first, you can also set up your own free blog.
1. Google's Blogger
Go to Blogger.com. I suggest you first take the tour there.
Next, select 'Create Your Blog Now' and fill out the registration form. You'll need your blog name here.
Accept the terms and fill out your blog address. This will be the first part of your blog URL, automatically followed by .blogspot.com. It would be wise to make the URL and the name of your blog the same.
Next, you choose your template. Pick any, you can always change it later.
And that's it! You now have your own blog.
In the past, Google has weeded out many blogs that they didn't find useful. That's the risk of hosting your blog on their servers.
On the other hand, many Google bloggers achieve great results with their blogs.
2. Wordpress
To be honest, I've never used this one, but it's my favorite blog software.
So, I gave it a try.
Like blogger, you'll get a subdomain at wordpress.com.
All you have to do after clicking 'Start Your Wordpress Blog' is enter a user name, your email address, agree to the terms and click Next.
On the next page you enter your blog title and press Sign Up. A confirmation email will be send and when you confirm your blog is ready!
There you have it. Two ways to get your own blog in less than three minutes.
Remember, using an external service like blogger or wordpress.com means that you take the risk of having your blog deleted somewhere in the future, so be careful. If you're really serious, consider hosting your own blog.
